COVID-19 Reflections

Now days it seems that everyone has an opinion and advice on what everyone should or shouldn’t do whilst they re in the quarantine, so I thought I would share my thoughts on it.

I believe everyone is different and everyone’s situation is unique and hearing people advice others to learn a new skill or write a book during this pandemic is just inappropriate.

The situation of COVID means that people can’t find any familiarity in their day to day routines. The rising pressure of money worries and job security is already enough to put an extreme pressure on mental health, and for those with children, the pressures of being a parent, and a teacher can push anyone of the edge. Therefore hearing that we should be somehow bettering ourselves is not only unhelpful but may be extra damaging to some.

Of course it’s great if you can find a way to create and grow personally through this situation, but this is not an option for everyone.

It’s okay to take extra time to be with your kids, to laugh and plant some flowers or berries in the garden.

It’s okay to take time for yourself, to get bored, it’s okay to explore some new recipes or tidy up your cupboards.

It’s okay to simply take time to do a short or long meditation and focus on gaining lots of energy and inspiration. And it’s very ok to simply relax on the sofa and watch Netflix.

We all know that the world will never be back to as it once was but when the situation does calm down, those who took time to rest, gain energy and to get a bit bored, will have a renewed sense of self and plenty of drive to jump into the next adventure.

I believe those are the people that will come out of this the real winners.

So stay home, stay safe, stay healthy and find time to get a bit bored!!!
